Ed & Pub Jim Street came the News Leader after more than 40 years in journalism from broadcast to newspaper to magazine reporting and public relations. His first dozen years were in radio and television reporting. In 1970, he joined the staff of the Fort Worth Star Telegram where he covered the construction and opening of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Then came a stint at DFW as public information officer. In that capacity, he chaired the public relations committee of the worldwide Airport Council International and was known as one of the top airport public relations people in the world. Then came free-lance writing assignments with aviation publications on three continents. Along the way, he became involved in transportation and was part owner of a limousine company. But in 2002, he longed to get back to his journalism career and bought the News Leader. Jim is single, the father of two grown children. Stuart is an engineer with Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth.
