LOST COAT – Wayne Truesdell and son Hunter robbed this sheep of its coat Sunday in preparation for the 30th Annual Terrell County
Fair. Preliminary events began Thursday and the big day is tomorrow, Jan. 31, at Fair Hall.
SANDERSON – The 30th Annual Terrell County Fair, one of the biggest “red letter” days of the year, is under way this weekend here.
“The Terrell County Fair Association has a long and proud tradition of supporting the Terrell County youth,” Association President
Bobby Stegall said. “The fair allows our children to exhibit their projects and livestock.
“Members of the community also participate
in the fair, exhibiting their abilities in baking, quilting, photography, art and livestock,” he said.
Stegall said the fair is the
30th for the county but the sixth year at the Terrell County Fair Hall, which the association bought from the Veterans of Foreign
Wars in 2002.
“For the past several years, we have added a new porch, ceiling fans, doors and a covered area for the livestock show,”
he said. “We plan to continue with more renovations throughout 2009.
“Our greatest appreciation goes to the many volunteers and contributors
for their unforgotten efforts,” Stegall said. “The Fair and Livestock Show would not be possible without the dedication and determination
of our members, parents and all in the community.”
Preliminary events began Thursday with arts and crafts, 4-H school projects, food and displays accepted at Fair Hall.
Today, Jan. 30, booth and vendors displays will be set up in the morning while arts and crafts
entries continue to be accepted at Fair Hall.
Arts and crafts judging will be from 1 to 4 p.m.
